No-exam life insurance
Who can use streamlined decisions, the way it works, and what differs if you cannot.
Many carriers now provide accelerated underwriting: they approve based on your application, pharmacy records, driving history and similar data, without a paramedical exam, for applicants in eligible age and amount ranges. Some choices arrive within hours. Every quote shows whether an exam is required, may be required, or is not required.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no underwriting. Your responses are checked, and policies based on wrong information can be challenged for the first two years. If the carrier's records uncover questions, they may request an exam or tests anyway—you can then choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually those under around 60 seeking coverage up to each carrier's streamlined maximum, with no serious health issues and no tobacco for a year or longer. Some carriers will use recent blood work from your doctor instead of requiring an exam.
When an exam is required, expect a thirty-minute appointment or less with a paramedical professional who comes to your residence or workplace in the Sacramento region at no expense. For applicants in good health, the findings frequently lead to a better rate class, making the exam potentially beneficial rather than simply a prerequisite.
